progeny of a discarded shell
the seed germinates
in sands of indifference
born out of neglect
develops into sapling
and begins its deed of photosynthesis
converting the waste of our growth
into the essence of our life
matures
years after year
and provides unbiased unconditional shade
to man and beast alike
watching with restive peace
those who strip it bare
and extort his future generations

faces natures wrath dauntlessly
steadfast to his karma
till it survives
and in death
is yet a giver of warmth
and what remains
is given back to mother it sprang of
as element of continuation of life
